Sites I Love to Share & Why
1. Edtechteacher - This is one of my favorite sites because of two pages that can be found under Tools for Teachers: Web Tools and iPad Tools. The statement, "I want my students to..." lives on both of these pages. Following the statement is a list of educational objectives, such as "publish their writing online for others to read" leading to an explanation of technology tools that support that objective and their ease of use. Brillant!
2. EduTecher - "Besides the wealth of links to Web Tools, users can also find self-produced webisodes of eduTecherTV with walkthroughs and demonstrations on how to use specific Web Tools for educational purposes. Users can create a free account and get access to wealth of features that make exploring and sharing sites on eduTecher fast and simple."
3. Teachers with Apps - "Jayne Clare, Special Education teacher and One of “20 to Watch” Leaders Advancing Education Technology, and Anne Rachel, Early Childhood educator, co-founded TWA to help teachers, therapist, parents and students wade through the vast number of educational apps being released on a daily basis." What I like the most is that they "field-test every app with a cross-section of students/teachers as part of [our] their review process. Teachers With Apps, co-founded by two lifelong educators, is dedicated to the idea that quality mobile educational apps are the tools of the future but they need to be used responsibly."
4. Free Tech 4 Teachers - Richard Byrne combines a blog post with reviews and tutorials on a variety of edtech tools as well as relevant articles and resources. In addition, he has created a weekly subscription and post update to allow his readers an easy way to stay current.
